Digital Citizenship
In the book, Digital Citizenship In Schools, 3rd edition, M. Ribble (2015) describes the concept of digital citizenship. In order to be a member of a digital society all users must know the laws and customs of the society. In order for this to occur, Ribble argues that students need to be taught the nine elements of digital citizenship from early grade school onward.
Ribble (2015) identifies and describes the nine elements of digital citizenship as:

This workshop is targeted toward medical professionals. It will discuss the nine elements of digital citizenship in terms of patient care, electronic medical records, the health care protection portability act (HIPPA) and maintaining a professional image online.
