Task Analysis for getting on Webadmit and screening an applicant
Objectives
1. The reviewer demonstrates the ability to successfully log on Webadmit, find their preadmission screening assignments and review the categories of the application by the end of the workshop.
2. By the end of the workshop the reviewer is able to describe a candidate that would be classified as a yes, high maybe, maybe or no in the pre-admissions screening and their classification would be deemed consistent with an experienced reviewer’s categorization more than 90% of the time.
3. By the end of the workshop the reviewer will be able to list the minimum requirements for admission to the school as well as the pre-requisites.
4. By the end of the workshop the reviewer would be able to locate their new preadmissions screening assignments as well as be able to describe the timetable on which these assignments will occur.
Obtain the necessary supplies:
1. A computer with an internet connection
2. The computer must have software installed with a web browser
3. You must have your user name and password from the admissions department- this is separate from the Wright State user name and password
Accessing Webadmit
1. Type the following web address into your web browser https://aamc.
2. Enter your email address as your user name and the password that you obtained from student affairs
3. Hit the blue log in button
4. Go to the dashboard
Can be found in the upper right-hand corner on Webadmit
5. Accessing the Records
Click on the drop-down arrow on the “review assignments” tab
This tab will be the top one in the middle section of the dashboard page
Click on the student name for whom you will do the pre-admissions screening
Screening the Applicant
On the upper right-hand corner of the applicant page is the option “add to clipboard”
Adding an applicant to the clipboard will give you easy access if you would need to resume screening the applicant at a later date.

Note if the applicant is an Ohio resident or not
Scroll down past the designations, scoring and assignments section.
Letters of Recommendation
Letters of recommendation are found in both the documents and the evaluations section
Click on the letter of recommendation
As you click on each letter of recommendation the letter is downloaded
After the letter is downloaded choose to either open it on your computer or in the web browser
To see contact information for the evaluator, click on evaluator details
Evaluator details will show up as a popup
To close the evaluator details, click on the red X
Personal Information
Note if the candidate is a URM
URM candidates are underrepresented in medicine
If you have a question of which candidate meet this classification please consult the Admissions Diversity Policy
Check to see if the candidate is a US citizen
Candidates should not have received a secondary application if they are not a US citizen, possess a permanent resident VISA or have a have an I94 granting refugee status or asylum status
Infractions fields
Check for any felonies- if there are any then the candidate is screened as a “no”
Check for misdemeanors- if there are any see if any will prevent licensure
Most misdemeanors are not a problem for licensing status
Watch for repeated alcohol or drug offenses
Check for institutional actions
If cheating- did the candidate take responsibility
Was there more than one offense?

Is the Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math, English GPA greater than 3.0?
Did the applicant meet all of the prerequisites?
1 year Biology with lab
1 year General Chemistry with lab
1 year Organic Chemistry with lab

1 year College Mathematics with lab
1 year of college English
1 year Biochemistry strongly recommended
If the candidate did not meet the BCPM GPA of 3.0 do they have a Master’s degree or other graduate work with an Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher?
If so, then consider their academics above the threshold
If not, mark the candidate as such in the comments section and they will be reviewed
If the candidate did not complete all of the prerequisite course, mark them as such in the comments section and they will be advised that all need to be completed before matriculation.

Review the total MCAT score and note if it is above or below the school median of 508
The MCAT must be the new MCAT
The MCAT can be taken no later than September of the year prior to matriculation
Review each subsection and note whether any section is below 125
Review the graph
In order to see a graph, you need to download it to your computer and open it.
When you click on the details page it opens, but will not close unless you click on the X
Education
Note the undergraduate degree as well as date of completion
Each candidate must have a minimum of 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours
If they do not, note this in the comments section
Check for any postbacchal hours as well as number of hours
Note any graduate courses or degrees
Note the difficulty level of the degree
Look for an increasing or decreasing trend to the GPA
Essay
Review the essay
Check writing and grammar skills
Check for hardships and extenuating circumstances
Look for depth of preparation for the medical field
Look for instances demonstrating resiliency
Experiences
Review the experience list
Note research experience
Note teaching experience
Note community engagement
Note shadowing experience
Note any experience as a scribe
Note experience with direct patient care
Check the number of hours at each

Check shadowing hours to see if they have enough clinical experience
Notice paid employment as well as additional licensures
When you have finished reviewing the applicant
Scroll back up to assignments and click on submit results
The question on the pop-up will be “Would you recommend this applicant for an interview?
Choose: no, maybe, high maybe or yes
Please enter a comment stating why you chose the rating you chose
You can then choose to save without completing or complete assignment.
After you have completed the assignment click next in the upper right-hand corner to go to the next assignment.
Each reviewer is expected to complete 25 pre-admissions screening reviews each month.
